FAQs

  • Anyone can apply! With that being said, the program specifically is specifically with teens and young adults in mind. In my clinical work, I noticed that many of my clients struggled to nourish their bodies. There is an important relationship between physical and mental health, so I created this program to help you approach your wellbeing from all angles.

My program is also designed for complete beginners–you don’t need to know anything about cooking to apply. In fact, this program is intended for folks who feel lost when it comes to making food. We’ll cover everything you need to know to feel confident in the kitchen.

  • The program costs $650. I’ve designed the program to have as much value as possible, including: 6 hands-on classes that are 2.5 hours of instruction each, food to eat or take home from 4 of the classes, and a knife roll that’s valued at $200.

Your health is a worthy investment, but I appreciate that everyone’s life circumstances are different. Depending on your income, I have sliding scale fee options in order to make cooking accessible to everyone. I encourage you to reach out for more information.

  • The Cooking 101 Program is completely hands-on. We’ll be cooking together, so I encourage you to get curious and ask questions. You’ll also be able to connect with a community of others who are also learning alongside you.

While we’ll stay focused in order to cover all the material, we’ll also have fun with this. Cooking for yourself and others can be empowering, and there can be great joy in learning how to take care of yourself and your community in a new way.

  • I utilize recipes that are easily augmented to accommodate vegetarian and vegan options. If you have strict restrictions please reach out to learn whether this cooking program is the right fit for your needs.

  • While I can make accommodations to reduce the likelihood of allergens, it is impossible to guarantee its complete absence as other participants may or may not adhere to the requests. If you have an inkling of doubt, please do not hesitate to contact me personally so that we can discuss options and if this course is the safest and best option for you.

  • My Custom Wellness Plans are meant for adults of all genders, occupations, backgrounds, and environments. If you value your wellbeing and are ready to take action to feel better, this program is for you.

  • The folks that benefit the most from coaching are those who already have a deep understanding of their own experiences, issues, and needs. Without this, we won’t be able to make as much headway creating and enacting solutions. My Custom Wellness Plans are action-oriented, not process-oriented.

  • DON’T WORRY! I want to make you feel seen and empowered. Together, we’ll come up with solutions that will create real, lasting change in your life.

  • I offer my Custom Wellness Plans for $1,015*

(*Installment + Sliding scale plans available).

You are welcome to continue on a session to session fee if you would like to extend the work beyond six weeks - yet do not want to commit to six more sessions.

  • Yes, however it is recommended to sign up initially for 3-6 sessions, as it takes at least three to develop a comprehensive understanding of your ‘presenting problem’.

1 session can be purchased after the first package is purchased and utilized if you do not want to purchase another package.

  • My coaching program is also designed for care providers struggling with burnout. Oftentimes, carers (such as nurses, doctors, social workers, cancer caretakers, and more) know what they need but struggle to make time and space for taking care of themselves. I’m here to help change that.

  • No.

Counseling is for people who need clinical work to unpack / process past experiences to understand why may be causing your distress today.

Coaching is more so future focused - you have a general understanding of what you would like to ‘fix’ based on deep understanding of your past (typically you have done a lot of cognitive therapy yet do not know how to make tangible changes to reflect what you want.

  • A general rule of thumb is that counseling is for past processing and coaching is short term & future focused.

If you have trauma or concerns related to ‘Mental Health’ - itis likely you need clinical counseling (which is legally limited to people living in the state of Michigan).

If you have goals you do not know how to make reality, coaching is likely the best fit. Reach out if you have questions, Avida can help you discern which is the right fit for you!

  • I am confident when working with people who have goals of improving:

    • Depression / anxiety / PTSD

    • Dysfunctional family systems

    • Communication skills and ability to build satisfying relationships

And more! Please reach out if you have any questions!
